DNA test for lactose and fructose intolerance
General information:
The test includes 2 mutations located in the LCT gene (-13910 T>C, -22018 A>G), and 4 mutations in the Aldolase B gene (del4E4, A149P, A174D, N334K).
The test is suitable for both adults and children.
The test proves a congenital lack of lactase due to a mutation in the gene responsible for lactase production. It is called primary lactose intolerance, which is established in childhood. Children are restless, do not gain weight, stools are specific. With a proven test, a lactose-free diet is prescribed.
The test is confirmatory and is different from the test for lactose intolerance (with lactose load) - Lactose-tolerant test.
