Androflor®Screen test
General information:
Androflor®Screen is a modern molecular diagnostic test for complex and quantitative assessment of the microbiome in the male urogenital tract and diagnosis of sexually transmitted infections.
What information does the Androflor® Screen test provide?
Quantification of the total number of microorganisms in the male urogenital tract
Quantification of transient microflora (temporary microflora encountered during sexual contact with the partner*)
Quantification of aerobic and anaerobic opportunistic microorganisms
Quantification of yeast-like fungi of the genus Candida
Quantification of genital mycoplasmas (Mycoplasma hominis, Ureaplasma parvum, Ureaplasma urealyticum)
Detection of agents of sexually transmitted infections:
Mycoplasma genitalium
Trichomonas vaginalis
Neisseria gonorrhoeae
Chlamydia trachomatis
*In certain conditions, the transient (temporary) microflora can disturb the balance of the normal microflora and cause the development of infections
Research Guidelines:
In clinical symptoms of urogenital infections
Inflammation of the prostate
For orchitis, epididymitis, balanitis
To clarify the causes of infertility
Before upcoming surgical manipulation in the urogenital tract
Monitoring the effectiveness of the treatment
Prevention and analysis of the state of the microflora in the absence of symptoms
Samples for analysis:
The material should be taken from a biotope as close as possible to the suspected source of infection.
Urethral secretion
Seminal fluid
Prostatic secretion
urine ( first void)
Pre-sampling instructions:
For a correct assessment of the composition of the microflora and to exclude the influence of transient microflora, a three-day abstinence from sexual contact before taking the sample is recommended
The examination can be carried out no earlier than 10-14 days after he has finished taking antibacterial, antifungal medications or local antiseptics.
The patient must not have urinated 3 hours before taking: urethral secretion; material from the foreskin, glans penis and foreskin; urine.
Sexual abstinence for 48-72 hours before collection of: prostate secretion; ejaculate.
Matching the type of sample with the purpose of the study: for the diagnosis of urethritis and balanitis and to control their treatment - urethral secretion; material from the glans penis, foreskin and prepuce; urine; for the diagnosis of prostatitis, male sterility and to control their treatment - prostatic secretion; ejaculate
