General Information:

The personal health booklet serves as proof that the employee can work in the food sphere without endangering the health and life of the customers of the establishment.

The research, the results of which are included in the booklet, are as follows:

  • (GP) or internal physician specialist from a hospital for outpatient care for crèches and children;
  • bacteriological study for the carriage of shigella, salmonella, enteropathogenic Escherichia coli and abdominophic carrier;
  • studies of intestinal helminths and protozoa;
  • conducting a tuberculin skin test for Mantu - for those who will work in childcare facilities;
  • For those working in the food and drink industry, review and research are needed, and for those who work in a barber, hairdresser or beauty salon, it is only necessary to go to a doctor's examination.

After passing the review, the doctor should include in the booklet whether the patient was suffering from contagious diseases and if there is any doubt that something is wrong - re-direct it for further research.

Separately, it should be known that the same prophylactic studies should be made every year to fit into the health booklet.

Diarrheal diseases are the second cause of death in children up to 5 years (after rotaviruses) worldwide, approximately 1.3 million deaths per year. Enteropathogenic Escherichia coli (EPEC), one of the pathogenic diarrhoea colitis groups, is one of the most important pathogens in childhood. They lead to significant morbidity, both in the hospital and in community (outpatient) cases. In recent years, their major role in chronic diarrhoea and long-term disorders of gastrointestinal motility (EPEC, ETEC, EAEC are found in 30-40% of cases). The main reservoir of infection is the man. The mechanism of transmission of the infection is faecal-oral. Colibacteria have great resistance in the external environment. The incubation period is 1-21 days. Vomiting, refusal to eat, marked anxiety are characteristic manifestations of the disease.

Diarrhoea is increasing to 10-15 defecations a day. Treatment is in a hospital setting and is prolonged, especially in severe forms.
In a natural way, E. coli is released into the external environment - water, soil, etc., where its establishment is used as a sanitary-microbiological indicator. In addition, E. coli may also be present in other organs and systems and may induce inflammatory processes causing sporadic or epidemic related diseases.
The gentle onset may quickly turn into a serious illness, and self-medication may lead to later complications, as well as spreading the infection. The source of the infection is people - sick and healthy contaminants. It is a serious problem because it does not have severe complaints, fever, or diarrhoea, but it spreads the infection to others (especially children's groups with common utensils, towels and close contact). That is why the study is obligatory when children enter children (crèches, gardens, homes).

* Please note: The study takes an average of 3 days; in case of chronic cases it is desirable to study 2 or 3 servings of faeces because the causative agents are released periodically and in a different quantity, ie. not the causative agent localizes in each faeces portion. Do not add any other substance to the sample.
If there is a positive result for E. coli diarrheal serotypes, Salmonella, Shigella labs are required to notify the person's physician and epidemiology-RHI (according to Ordinance 21 on the Report on Communicable Diseases).
Patients with a positive result are assigned treatment and diet-hygienic regimen to remove the causative agent and give 3 consecutive control samples.
* For parents: children are admitted to a kindergarten with a negative result for intestinal pathogens and parasites.
