ESR - erythrocyte sedimentation rate. Important for ESRs are age, gender and others. A physiologically moderate ESR is seen in pregnant women from the third month of pregnancy to the second to third week after birth. The sample is highly unspecific, not an urgent indicator. Accelerates in many diseases, usually 2-3 days after the onset of clinical manifestations, and normalizes 1-2 weeks after resumption. Accelerated ESR is seen in inflammatory diseases, purulent processes, tuberculosis, tumours, collagenosis and other.

Sample Required:

Venous blood in the morning in fasting

Key words:

CBC, ESR
